Kansas City Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis has chosen Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) as his cause for the NFL’s annual My Cause My Cleats campaign. This initiative, which allows players to showcase charitable organizations by wearing custom-designed cleats, will take center stage during Week 13 of the season.
Karlaftis will proudly sport cleats designed to reflect his dedication to promoting inclusion and empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities. “It’s a cause near and dear to my heart,” Karlaftis shared. “The athletes inspire me every day. I’m honored to use my platform to shine a light on the incredible work SOMO does and the lives they impact.”

The cleats will debut on Friday, November 29, during the Chiefs‘ game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. In addition to raising awareness, Karlaftis partnered with SOMO athletes to create a promotional video encouraging inclusion.
