NBA legend Rasheed Wallace gave a surprise visit to the Kansas City Chiefs‘ training camp on Wednesday, providing a welcome boost to the squad ahead of the new season.
Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the squad are stepping up preparations as the new campaign approaches, and the visit of Wallace was a pleasant surprise for the side.

“Sheeeeed It was great to host NBA Champ Rasheed Wallace out at camp today,” read the caption on the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Instagram post.
Wallace even joked that he was stepping out of retirement in a bid to assist in the Chiefs’ cause, although they clearly need little extra help
“I’m comin’ out of retirement. #ChiefsKingdom,” Wallace posted on X alongside a photo of himself at the training camp.
Wallace is a Chiefs fan
Far from just a PR stunt, it turns out that Wallace is in fact a big fan of the reigning Super Bowl champions, as he explained in a recent interview.
He explained that his love for the Chiefs stems back to over three decades ago due to his admiration for Joe Montana.
“I became a Chiefs fan in 1992, and the reason being, I was a Montana fan; Joe Montana got traded from the Niners,” Wallace told USA Today’s Ed Easton Jr in June this year.
“I wasn’t a Niners fan, an individual of football. I didn’t have a team at the time, and then when he got traded, nobody I knew was a Chiefs fan. And so I was like, ‘Oh, man, that’s perfect; we were still in the gutter.’ We weren’t winning. I said, ‘OK, that’s just my team.’ I stuck with them through all the days. That’s the whole Trent Green, then the Alex Smith (eras). I have been there since 92 for my guys, and now that we are finally winning, it feels stupendous.”
