Shocking new information has surfaced regarding former Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley, who was arrested following what authorities describe as a violent family incident involving his minor sister.
According to police reports, the veteran point guard was taken into custody in Fort Bend County on a third-degree felony charge of assault on a family member by impeding breath or circulation.

Deputies responded to a late-night call at a residence in Richmond, Texas, where the alleged altercation occurred.
Investigators detailed a sequence of events beginning when Beverley’s sister-who is underage-returned home after leaving without permission to meet her 18-year-old boyfriend, identified as Aiden Hilderbrand. Upon her return, the teen was confronted by her mother,
Lisa, who ordered Hilderbrand to leave the property. Moments later, she allegedly called Patrick Beverley to the home and directed him to the victim’s room.
What is Patrick Beverley accused of?
The police account states that Beverley immediately began shouting at his sister before the situation turned physical.
The teenager told investigators that Beverley grabbed her by the neck, lifted her off the ground, and squeezed for “20 to 30 seconds,” causing pain and restricting her breathing.
Further allegations claim that Beverley continued holding her by the neck while dragging her out of the room and slamming her into walls.
According to reports, the alleged assault ended when Beverley placed her on a sofa, stood over her, and punched her once in the left eye with a closed fist.
The documents also state that Beverley threatened his sister, allegedly telling her he would be the family member who “kills her.”
Deputies documented visible marks on the victim’s neck along with red spots beneath the skin near her eye. Beverley was subsequently arrested and later released after posting a $40,000 bond.
Defense specialist’s storied NBA career
Before his legal troubles, Patrick Beverley carved out a noteworthy 12-year career in the NBA, earning a reputation as one of the league’s fiercest and most relentless defensive guards.
After being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008 but beginning his journey overseas, he made his league debut with the Houston Rockets in 2013.
His physical, disruptive style earned him three NBA All-Defensive Team selections, including a First Team nod in 2017.
Over the years, Beverley became a well-traveled veteran, competing for seven franchises: the Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, and most recently the Milwaukee Bucks.
In 2024, he signed to continue his career overseas with Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Beverley’s attorneys deny specific allegations
Following his release on bond, Patrick Beverley issued a brief message across social media: “Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet.”
His legal representatives later provided a more formal response defending the veteran guard:
“Patrick Beverley has no criminal record. He cares deeply about his little sister – a young lady, a minor,” the statement read.
“Given that, when he unexpectedly found her alone in the home with an 18-year-old man in the middle of the night, he was understandably concerned, as any brother would be about his sister.
“However, we don’t believe what followed happened the way it’s been described and we look forward to the opportunity to address that in court.”
