Former UFC fighter Darren Till, who will make his boxing debut in January 2025 against Tommy Fury, has issued a challenge to footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, 39, currently plays for Saudi Arabian league team Al-Nassr, and is recognised not only as one of the greatest footballers of all time, but also for his strict physical regime and professionalism, which would undoubtedly lend itself to his performance in other sports.
But fighting in MMA is a totally different world.
Till’s differences with a former soccer player on social media
Till, a well-known Liverpool fan, commented that on social media he had a difference with the former Manchester United player, Gary Neville, so he would not hesitate to challenge him to a fight inside an octagon, although he added that he would not mind facing CR7.
“I would like to fight Gary Neville because he and I have had a problem on Twitter,” Till told Norske Bettingsider. “He doesn’t like me. I have a bit of a problem with Gary.”
“I don’t hate the guy. But yeah, it would probably be a fight against Gary Neville or Cristiano Ronaldo, because Cristiano looks like a big, tough guy. I’d like to see his speed and power. He looks like a very explosive man,” Till added.
However, the former UFC fighter acknowledged Cristiano Ronaldo’s discipline, according to sportbible.com.
The fight between Till and Fury
But before he thinks about facing his former Manchester United teammates, Darren will step into the ring for the first time to fight fellow Briton Tommy Fury.
Till and Fury will fight on January 18 at the Co-Op Live in Manchester in what will be Till’s first professional boxing fight.
CR7 is said to be a fan of boxing and MMA, and even some time ago he was involved in a discussion with UFC champion Ilia Topuria.
CR7 said that the Spanish fighter “talks too much”, when giving his opinion about former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, so Topuria responded.
“I didn’t expect someone like you to be unable to distinguish between confidence and arrogance,” said the Spanish fighter.
In the end, it is not known whether Nevillo or CR7 would be willing to get into an octagon or a ring to face Till, in two sports that are totally opposite in terms of skills or characteristics.
