LeBron James’ agent proposes a trade to Jerry Jones that would shake up the NFL: Bring Patrick Mahomes to the Cowboys

Patrick Mahomes has spent nearly his entire starting career guiding the Kansas City Chiefs through January football, piling up titles and Super Bowl runs in a way rarely seen in the NFL.

This fall has been a sharp departure from that script. At 6-7, the Chiefs find themselves trying to salvage a season that has slipped far from the expectations that defined their run.

The team’s struggles opened the door for an unusual voice to enter the conversation. Rich Paul, best known for representing LeBron James, surfaced on the “Game Over” podcast with a suggestion that immediately raised eyebrows across the league.

Speaking playfully but with the confidence of someone who lives in the world of blockbuster moves, Paul shared exactly where he would want to see Mahomes if circumstances ever changed in Kansas City.

“You know where I want to see Mahomes? Dallas,” he said. “First of all, this is the agent coming out of me now. I would want to see him in Dallas. I think if they [Cowboys] were to do that, I would call (Cowboys GM) Jerry (Jones) and tell him, ‘buy another helicopter Jerry.'”

Paul stressed that he was not urging Mahomes to leave the Chiefs or signaling anything from ownership. Instead, he leaned into the thought experiment and the commercial power he believes such a move would unleash.

“I’m not telling you to leave, Patrick. The Hunt family, I’m not telling him to leave,” Paul said. “But if, for some reason, there’s a change in Kansas City, those Mahomes jerseys in Dallas, oh yeah! If he was to leave Kansas City, I will want to see him in Dallas, Texas. And I’m a Browns fan, by the way.

“You know who else would love for him to be in Dallas? Adidas. You know who else? Oakley. RG [NFL commissioner Roger Goodell] would like it. Jerry would definitely [like it].”

Chiefs try to regroup as playoff chances shrink

The timing of Paul‘s comments followed another difficult night for Kansas City. A 20 to 10 loss to the Houston Texans deepened the team’s slide and left its postseason hopes hanging by a thread. With each defeat, the path becomes narrower, and Mahomes acknowledged as much afterward while insisting the locker room has not checked out.

“We know the chances are getting lower and lower, but I know the guys on this team are going to give everything they have, eery opportunity we get,” Mahomes said.
