New twist in the case of Adan Manzano, the reporter who died covering the Super Bowl: A new drug was found in his system

The case of the death of Telemundo reporter Adan Manzano during the week of the last Super Bowl in New Orleans raised a great controversy, because of the situation he was living in his personal life, because of the circumstances of the unfortunate events, and of course, because of the place and the event he was going to cover as part of his work assignment.Manzano was found dead in a hotel room in Kenner, a suburb of New Orleans, days before the Super Bowl and the incident was immediately investigated as a probable murder, as he had been last seen alive on security cameras in the company of a prostitute named Danette Colbert, who took him to that hotel room.

New details surrounding the death of Adan Manzano

Colbert, who was arrested after the reporter’s death, was found with Manzano’s cell phone and credit card when her home was searched, and she has been in custody ever since without bail, while investigations into Manzano’s death continue.

The latest news surrounding Manzano and the circumstances surrounding his death is that in the autopsy performed on him, Xanax was found in his system, a drug from the benzodiazepine family that is used to treat anxiety, distress and panic attacks, but which has recently become ‘fashionable’ as a recreational drug

The toxicology report did not specify when the substance could have been administered to the 27-year-old reporter, but it was known that large quantities of the drug Alprazolam were found at Colbert’s home, whose trade name is Xanax or Tafil.

Common modus operandi in robberies

New Orleans police detective Jeffrey Fitzmorris told various media outlets that this substance is frequently used by thieves in their robberies, because one of its immediate effects is that it can cause amnesia.

At the moment, Danette Colbert is only charged with stealing Adan Manzano’s belongings, but her record condemns her, as it includes accusations of drugging men for the purpose of robbery, both of valuables and various items, which was reason enough for her to be denied bail and considered a danger to society. And all indications are that she will eventually be charged with murder.
