Luka Doncic continues to work his magic with the Dallas Mavericks as they took a commanding 2-0 lead against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals and one man loving it was the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, who celebrated with a series of war cries on social media…
The three-time Super Bowl champion has his destiny set in American Football, but it seems that his true love could actually be basketball as he’s loved watching his home Texas team push on to look good to book their spot in their first NBA Finals in over a decade.

Mahomes has closely followed the series, celebrating the 108-105 victory in a tight game one but if he didn’t think it could get closer than that, he would need to think again as the Mavericks won game two but just one point, sending his emotions into overdrive!
“See yall in Dallas!!,” Mahomes posted to X.com, formerly Twitter, before adding “LUKKAAAA!!!! Bang!!!! Mavs ball!!,” when the Slovenian star made a clutch play for his side.
It’s fair to say that his emotions were valid too.. Doncic had just nailed a walk-off three pointer to ensure that the Mavericks were halfway there to winning the series against a very tough Timberwolves opponent, as he continues to write playoff legend in Dallas.
To go with the game-ending shot, Doncic also posted 32 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists, displaying the sort of feats that Michael Jordan and LeBron James are known for doing in the postseason.
Kyrie Irving, another star of the side, also added 20 points as the pair combined to account for just below 50% of the Mavericks’ haul as they prove to be a handful for anybody to handle.
Does Mahomes think they will win a ring?
The Mavericks were far from the favorites to make the NBA Finals, but here they are needing just two wins from five games to book their spot there for the first time since 2011 after already toppling the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers.
But if they do make it through, they won’t have it easy in the final series of the season either. The Mavericks would seem set to play the Boston Celtics, who hold a 2-0 lead over the Indiana Pacers.
The Celtics finished with a .780 record and won 14 more games than Doncic’s cohort, so does Mahomes rate their chances against the Eastern Conference leaders?
“If Luka plays the way Luka can play and Kyrie is Kyrie,” Mahomes posted, also to X.com. “They got as good a chance as anybody of winning it all.”
