It was huge news when on Thursday former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III was let go of ESPN. Now, it’s even bigger news the way he reacted to it. The now analyst took to social media to express his feelings after not having a job now.
Of course, he still has participations on videos on the web, but this was different, as he appeared on the famous show NFL Countdown and also on many college football shows and served as color commentator for many NCAA football games on the network’s channels.
Now, unemployed, he posted a clip from a movie that has everyone talking. While it is a very funny clip to many, others can find it controversial after not working for the company anymore and unless he clears the air, everyone is wondering if there is more to it.
The clip itself represents his current situation
Robert Griffin III posted a clip on his personal X account, formerly known as Twitter, of the 1995 movie Fridaywhere actor John Witherspoon was chastising his son for getting fired from his job. The part of his son is played by Ice Cube.
“How the hell you gonna get fired on your day off?,” Witherspoon asked on the video clip, and then the answer was legendary as well. “I don’t know,” Ice Cube replied and that was the end of the clip.
RG3 was a standout player at Baylor and had a lot of upsides with the then called Washington Redskins, but a knee injury conditioned his career and after retiring he focused on life as an analyst. He has always been a person of good humor but this time the timing of the post has everyone talking.
