In a game where the New York Giants were favored, following a win over the Los Angeles Chargers the previous week, they ended up disappointing and falling victim to their own mistakes. There were several errors, but one of the most costly involved rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who threw two interceptions and also lost a fumble.
Jaxson Dart wins NVP and a slime shower
The Giants ultimately lost 26-14 to the New Orleans Saints. In addition to Dart’s three turnovers, Cam Skateebo also fumbled as New York was trying to mount a comeback, with the Saints’ defense returning it for a touchdown. Not only that, Darius Slayton also had a fumble. It was a dark afternoon for Brian Daboll’s team.
On the positive side, Dart threw for 202 yards and 2 touchdown passes, both to tight end Theo Johnson. In fact, the Giants led 14-6 at one point, but after the turnovers, they found themselves in a dead-end situation and were ultimately crushed.

When the Giants led 14-6, there was a play in which Dart expressed his frustration with wide receiver Jalin Hyatt for not blocking properly during a run by the Ole Miss standout. After this play, several Giants fans began calling for Hyatt to be cut from the team.
After being drafted in the third round in 2023 as a highly talented prospect, Hyatt has yet to live up to expectations. The Tennessee product had 373 yards in his rookie season, just 62 yards in 2024, and has yet to record a single yard in the 2025 campaign.
Additionally, one of Dart’s interceptions in this game came on a pass intended for Hyatt. So, if opportunities were already limited, they may now be even fewer, and he could be cut from the team at some point. What is clear is that the Giants are going through a difficult period, and the light at the end of the tunnel is nowhere in sight.
To make matters worse, this was a winnable game. The Giants were favorites, but upcoming games are much tougher. On Thursday, they will host the Philadelphia Eagles, then visit the Denver Broncos, and later return to face the Eagles again, this time on the road. The outlook is bleak for Brian Daboll, and it seems he may be in his final weeks as head coach.
