A’ja Wilson puts pressure on Bam Adebayo for the next step of their relationship

The sports world has seen plenty of power couples come into fruition in recent years; none more famous than Taylor Swift‘s relationship with Travis Kelce, which is epic on a global scale. But Bam Adebayo and A’ja Wilson have done well to be the basketball version of “Tayvis”.

Before it became official, rumors ran rampant for months – even years for some – regarding a potential relationship between Wilson and Adebayo. They kept it under wraps for a while, even through the 2024 Summer Olympics, where they were frequently seen spending time together. Ultimately, they became a couple, and a very strong one at that. Things have gone incredibly well for Wilson on a personal level in the WNBA, while the same can be said for Adebayo in the NBA.

A’ja Wilson is ready to get married and start a family

With a very strong foundation and time always at a premium, Wilson is already thinking about the next step in her relationship with Adebayo. Despite not being married yet, Wilson is getting the parental itch. In her interview with TIME Magazine after being named the 2025 Athlete of the Year, Wilson admitted she’s ready to begin a family with Adebayo.

I hope I’m not wasting my time. I hope he’s not wasting his time. [Starting a family] is always a dream. This is my life partner. Honestly, what on earth was my world before you? That’s how much he’s impacted my life, my family’s life.

Marriage would likely come first. When asked about the timeline on that, Wilson tells the interviewer “That’s the question I need you to deliver to him!” So Wilson is ready for marriage and a family to follow. Adebayo seems ready, too, but given how private they were in keeping their relationship under wraps, they could do both and not even tell anyone.
