Patrick Mahomes’ mom unveils unexpected holiday initiative to support youth sports families

The Kansas City Chiefs are navigating a difficult season, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes is sidelined with a significant injury.

Amid this challenging time, his mother, Randi Mahomes, is focusing on a different mission: supporting families raising young athletes.

This holiday season, she is giving away 200 full courses from her Sports Parent Academy, sharing the guidance and lessons she’s gained from raising an NFL star.

The initiative is part of a larger effort to “pour into others,” drawing on her own journey raising young athletes.

While the Chiefs face what could be described as a rebuilding phase after Mahomes‘ injury, Randi is setting a different tone by giving families access to resources she believes can make a lasting impact.

“It’s here!!! With everything happening in our world and in our family, one thing that never changes is wanting to pour into others and give back where we can,” she wrote in her caption.

“That’s why this giveaway means so much to me. I’m excited to be giving away Sports Parent Academy courses and hope they can be a blessing to your family!”

Randi‘s decision to focus on sports families reflects a broader vision behind the Sports Parent Academy, which officially launched earlier this year.

The online course platform was designed to guide parents through each stage of their children’s athletic journey, from early practices and team dynamics to recruitment awareness and mental resilience.

In announcing the academy’s launch in May, Randi described it as the course she “wished [she] had while raising [her] 3 kids through all the wins, losses, and everything in between.”

How the Sports Parent Academy supports parents

The Sports Parent Academy isn’t simply a collection of videos or playbooks; it’s a structured curriculum that blends Randi‘s personal experiences with expert insights.

Content includes mindset training, communication strategies, live Q&A sessions, and modules designed to help parents balance encouragement with realistic expectations.

Contributors like Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo, a psychologist and performance coach, add depth to the coursework, ensuring families receive guidance grounded in both experience and research.

Randi‘s own story resonates with many. Raised in a closeknit Texas community and later raising her own children while working for nearly two decades at Hollytree Country Club, she learned firsthand the challenges and triumphs of balancing life’s demands with the pursuit of athletic goals.

Patrick‘s rise from Whitehouse High School to Texas Tech and, eventually, to NFL stardom with the Chiefs has given her a unique perspective on the parents’ role in supporting young talents, both emotionally and logistically.

Beyond technical guidance, the Academy aims to foster a community where parents can share experiences, seek advice, and develop confidence in decisions that affect their children’s development.

Randi believes that parents who are informed and supported can make a meaningful difference in their athletes’ journeys.
