The Buffalo Bills secured a narrow victory in the NFL playoffs wild card round against the Jacksonville Jaguars, 27-24, on Sunday, January 11.
Quarterback Josh Allen led the team to victory with 273 passing yards and three touchdowns, including a 10-yard pass near the end of the game. These feats earned him a comparison to NBA star Michael Jordan.

Allen compared to Jordan
Completing 28 of his 35 passes with an 80% completion rate and no interceptions, the 29-year-old QB not only received the support and praise of Bills fans, but also NFL analysts.
One of them was Chris Broussard, a Fox Sports commentator, who highlighted Josh’s performance against Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars and compared him to the consistency and determination of NBA Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan:
“He’s clearly the best quarterback left in the conference, so they were already on notice,” Broussard began on First Things First, adding, “But I thought what was so impressive yesterday, like you said, we come with Superman mode, is like he goes dynamic. I think it was somewhat, I mean, it wasn’t Superman because it wasn’t dynamic. It was just steady,” Chris emphasized.
“It was almost like Jordan in the first three peat is Superman mode, and yesterday, Josh Allen was Jordan in the second three peat. Not quite as dynamic, not as spectacular, but just killing you, killing you mid-range here. And, you know, just, and that’s what he did.”
In making this analogy, Broussard not only compared Jordan’s most prominent era, when he not only won but decided championships with legendary performances under extreme pressure, but also Allen’s comeback with the Bills, who broke a 33-year streak without Buffalo winning a playoff game on the road.
In addition, Broussard reflected on how staying “steady” helped Allen achieve a great result, taking the team to the next step: facing the Denver Broncos in the divisional round and trying to continue advancing on the road to the Super Bowl: “He was just steady, and that’s what’s scary because if he can do this without the mistakes, that really makes them scary,” he said.
Meanwhile, the current MVP has won numerous awards and set numerous records throughout his career, but he is still fighting to achieve one of the most coveted: his first Vince Lombardi.
Now, with two of his strongest opponents out of the way, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs and Joe Burrow and the Bengals, and now that he has managed to overcome the Jaguars and Lawrence, Allen has a unique opportunity to achieve it.
