Neymar has once again shown an unusual side of his life off the pitch. In the last few hours, the Brazilian striker shared a video on social media showing part of the demanding rehabilitation treatment he undergoes daily on his recently operated left knee. In the images, he can be seen in the middle of a physiotherapy session, undergoing such an intense procedure that he even jokingly invites some of his friends to try it.
Lying on the stretcher, the companions do not take long to react with gestures of pain and screams, a scene that reflects the harshness of the physical work that Neymar faces every day with the aim of returning to compete at the highest level. The relaxed tone of the video contrasts with the seriousness of the process, which once again puts the Brazilian’s physique in the spotlight.
An injury postponed by the team
Neymar’s last injury occurred at the end of November, when he suffered a meniscus injury in his left knee. Despite the diagnosis, the striker made the decision to postpone surgery in order to play in the decisive matches with Santos, who were going through a critical moment in the fight against relegation.
That choice proved to be key to the end of the season. Neymar took on the sporting leadership of the team in a decisive period and managed to maintain his presence on the pitch despite physical discomfort, prioritising the collective objective over his personal situation.
Numbers and leadership at a critical time
The Brazilian closed the year with 28 games played, 11 goals and four assists, becoming one of Santos’ main footballing references at the most delicate moment of the championship. His contribution was decisive not only to ensure permanence in the category, but also to achieve qualification for the next edition of the Copa Sudamericana.
Once those objectives were achieved, Neymar finally underwent surgery and began a new recovery process, hoping to leave behind a period marked by physical irregularity.
An injury history that worries
Injuries have been a constant in the career of the former Barcelona and PSG player. Since the 2013-2014 season, Neymar has accumulated more than 1,300 days of inactivity due to various physical problems. In recent years, this record has worsened following his move to Al Hilal, where a torn ligament kept him out of action for more than 200 days and allowed him to play just seven games, even though the Saudi club had paid around 90 million euros for his transfer.
After a difficult return, the striker managed to rediscover his best form in the final stretch of 2025 and end the year on a positive note with Santos. In this context, club and player agreed to extend their relationship until December 2026, with the expectation that Neymar can leave behind the physical problems and regain continuity on the field.
