Younger players have begun to surpass him in one-on-one matchups. He appears slower against opponents in their early twenties, and regardless of the immense talent that has flowed through the NBA, time ultimately restores balance.

For LeBron, this represents a significant blow. He had started the All-Star Game for 21 consecutive years.

Fans were responsible for 50 percent of the vote to select All-Star starters, with media accounting for 25 percent and current players contributing the remaining 25 percent.
As a result, James did not receive enough overall support to secure a starting role. Still, he could be named among the reserves during what is his 23rd season in the league.
Those players will be announced on Sunday, February 1, and will be selected by league coaches. The game will be played on February 15 using a round-robin format that will pit the United States team against the rest of the world.
There will be 16 players from the United States selected, along with eight international players.
It is worth remembering that during the 2025 season, LeBron was selected as a starter but was forced to sit out due to foot and ankle issues.
One factor that may have cost him a starting spot this year is that he has missed several games since the beginning of the season because of ongoing sciatica problems.
Despite those health concerns, the ‘King’ is averaging 23 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in the games he has played. Now, he must wait to see whether coaches include him among their selections or if he will be left out of the All-Star Game entirely.
