The Warriors plan to bring Stephen Curry together with LeBron James

Amid the turbulence currently surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James is simultaneously making history in the 2025-26 NBA season by playing his 23rd year in the league-a milestone no other player had ever reached.

At 41 years old, having just turned that age last month, the four-time NBA champion is in the middle of a record-breaking season while still leaving his NBA future unresolved, with his Lakers contract set to expire at the end of the campaign. All signs point toward Los Angeles and LeBron James going their separate ways, meaning a potential shake-up could arrive as early as the NBA trade deadline on February 5.

Retirement or a new team?

That is the key question surrounding LeBron James right now, especially after a recent rumor linked the Golden State Warriors to a potential pursuit of the future Hall of Famer.

On Thursday, a report from Real GM placed the Warriors in the mix for a possible trade involving Giannis Antetokounmpo, while also exploring the option of signing LeBron James as a free agent.

According to those sources, Golden State aims to play a major role in the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes and is seriously considering the idea of pairing LeBron with Stephen Curry in an effort to reshape the franchise’s trajectory while maximizing the remaining prime years of their superstar core.

Still, it remains unclear whether the Warriors’ front office can pull off such ambitious moves while competing with franchises like the Lakers in the race for Giannis, who is expected to become one of the most coveted stars in the NBA should a blockbuster trade materialize.

As for LeBron James, his next step remains a mystery, but the chance to share the court with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Antetokounmpo would undoubtedly present an extremely compelling scenario for the veteran forward-particularly if this ends up being the final season of his legendary NBA career.
