Ronald Araujo has had a difficult few months, in which he has questioned many things, but the support of his family and his unwavering faith in God have allowed him to recover, move forward and return to Barcelona in top form, after stopping for a few weeks due to mental health problems. His celebration on Tuesday, after scoring against Albacete in the Copa del Rey, was one of gratitude and confirmation of his beliefs.
Araujo was one of the goalscorers on the Copa del Rey night at the Carlos Belmonte. He scored Barcelona’s second goal, heading home to make it 0-2 on the scoreboard. His goal was one of tranquility, as Barca reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey and he confirmed that he has already overcome the mental health problems that forced him to stop at the end of November. The goal gave him confidence in his work and his ability.
Barcelona posted a video of Lionel Messi first professional goal and fans loved it
But as soon as he scored, the Uruguayan international surprised everyone with a special celebration: he covered his face and looked up to the sky. Almost no one understood the gesture, but he later explained it.
His celebration has a Christian meaning: “The glory is not for me but for God.” With this action, Araujo shows his great faith, which he does not hesitate to share on social media with his family, and his gratitude to the Most High for having helped him overcome the difficult moments he has gone through in recent months.
