The Scrubs Revival Confirms Guest Spots for Neil Flynn, Christa Miller, and More

Someone call the Janitor! We need a cleanup in the Pediatric Ward! That’s right, Scrubs fans, your favorite disgruntled custodian is returning to the anticipated (and well-reviewed) Scrubs revival alongside other favs and newcomers.

Who’s returning for more Scrubs?

According to Deadline, Neill Flynn (Shrinking, The Middle) and Christa Miller (Shrinking), who originally played The Janitor and Jordan, respectively, will reprise their roles for the upcoming revival series. In addition to Flynn and Miller, Rachel Bilson (Nashville, The O.C.), Andy Ridings (Shifting Gears, All My Children), and Lisa Gilroy (Shrinking, Twisted Metal) will join the cast as guest stars.

Here are the character breakdowns for the new additions:

Bilson will play Charlie, a beautiful and elusive visitor at Sacred Heart. Ridings will play Wes, a pilot who delivers transplant organs. Lastly, Gilroy will play Lily, an angelic-looking harpist who performs in the hospital lobby.

What’s the Scrubs revival about?

Set for a February 25, 2026, debut with two back-to-back episodes, the Scrubs revival finds Dr. JD Dorian (Zach Braff), Dr. Christopher Turk (Donald Faison), Dr. Elliott Reid (Sarah Chalke), Dr. Perry Cox (John C. McGinley), and Nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes) returning to pass the torch to a group of up-and-coming medical professionals.

The official logline for the Scrubs revival series states: “JD (Braff) & Turk (Faison) scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.” Series creator Bill Lawrence added, “Scrubs means so very much to me. So excited for the chance to get the band back together.”

Praise for the Scrubs revival series

JoBlo’s Alex Maidy gave the Scrubs revival a 9 out of 10 in his review. Before posting his thoughts online, Alex flooded our GChat with gushing words about the revival. He’s got a thing for Sarah Chalke’s Elliot, but don’t we all?

“Scrubs, despite an underwhelming final season, returns just as strong as the original series in its prime,” Alex wrote in his review. “The emotional elements and the comedy work hand in hand, allowing the characters to have evolved in some ways but remaining their rambunctious and silly selves we first met back in 2001. If this revival doesn’t click with audiences, Scrubs will at least have redeemed itself with a much more fitting final chapter. I have no doubt that long-time fans and new viewers alike will discover the new Scrubs and love every minute of it. I found myself smiling and laughing out loud in equal measure. Some other recent revivals have felt wooden, and the jokes missed more often than they hit, but Scrubs is a perfect example of revisiting a classic series and doing it right. I love that this show is back and hope that it sticks around for another decade.”
