Arrow Video is aiming for the action genre with an exciting announcement: it’s releasing 4K Limited Editions of Kevin Costner’s 1991 classic Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and the 1983 conspiracy thriller Blue Thunder.

Helmed by director Kevin Reynolds (Waterworld, The Count of Monte Cristo), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves pays homage to the past while transforming the famous outlaw of Sherwood Forest into a movie icon fit for the 1990s.
Robin of Locksley (Kevin Costner) returns from the Crusades to find his father dead and vows revenge. With his Moorish companion Azeem (Morgan Freeman, Unforgiven), he joins a band of peasant rebels to do battle against the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman) and win the hand of the fair Maid Marian (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), cousin of the absent King of England.

Kevin Reynolds’ Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was EVERYWHERE when I was in middle school. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve slow-danced to “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You.” I have a soft spot in my heart for this movie, and never tire of Alan Rickman’s unforgettable performance as the Sheriff of Nottingham. He’s got so many classic one-liners in this movie, it’s incredible.
Arrow’s 4K Limited Edition of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves arrives on May 26, while Blue Thunder takes flight on May 5.
