Sadie Sandler gets more than she bargains for in Roommates

Adam Sandler’s residency at Netflix is becoming a family affair. The former SNL star started to bring along his wife and his daughters along for the ride in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, then his daughter Sadie Sandler would also be included among the cast for Happy Gilmore 2. Now, Sadie breaks off into her own with her starring role in the upcoming Netflix comedy Roommates. Sandler is joined by Chloe East, Billy Bryk, Sarah Sherman, Martin Herlihy, Josh Segarra, Carol Kane, Janeane Garofalo, Aidan Langford, Bella Murphy, Jaya Harper, Storm Reid, Ivy Wolk, Bailee Madison with Natasha Lyonne and Nick Kroll in the film.

The official description reads,
“When a hopeful, naive college freshman, Devon, asks the cool and confident Celeste to be her roommate, a blossoming friendship spirals into a war of passive aggression.”

Chandler Levack directs the film from a script written by Jimmy Fowlie & Ceara Jane O’Sullivan. Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihy are on board as producers.

As for Sadie’s dad, Adam Sandler, he is now set to star in a new Netflix remake of Time Out, which is a French film from 2001 by Laurent Cantet. According to Nexus Point News, the story of the film “revolves around a man laid off from his job who pretends to go to work every day to avoid telling his family. As time goes he falls deeper into a web of lies and scams to maintain his comfortable life.” Sandler will be playing the lead role, Vincent. It has also been announced that Dustin Hoffman has joined the project as Vincent’s father. Scott Cooper, who recently released Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, will be the writer and director of the film. Interestingly, Christian Bale was once attached to the Vincent role when Cooper started developing the film. Veteran producer Jon Kilik will be on board to produce the film.

Natasha Lyonne, who plays Sadie’s mom in Roommates, is also set to write, direct and produce Bambo, which follows a Brooklyn-born boxing-promoter father in the ’80s who tries and fails to become the next Don King, and “takes his kid daughter along for the hurly burly ride of tax evasion, cocaine, race cars, lost dreams and heartbreak.”

Meanwhile, Roommates is due to hit the streamer globally on April 17.
