Draymond Green rips Warriors fans Calling for trade: “You were a loser before I got here”

Draymond Green is once again making his feelings known, and this time, the target is a specific segment of his own fanbase. During an appearance on Monday’s episode of Fred VanVleet’s podcast, Unguarded, the Golden State Warriors veteran went on a scathing tirade against fans who campaigned for him to be traded during the 2025-26 season.

Green, who remained with the Warriors through a deadline filled with speculation, didn’t mince words when addressing those who wanted him out.

“I see fans saying different s**t now,” Green told VanVleet.

I’ll see Warriors fans like, ‘Yo, it’s time to get him out of here.’ To the ones that do feel that way, like, you was a loser before I got here. Like, a f**king stone cold forever losers.

The four-time All-Star contrasted those critics with what he called “real” fans, thanking them for their continued support through a season where his name was frequently floated in high-profile trade talks.

The Giannis rumors and the $100 million contract

The tension between Green and the fanbase reached a boiling point earlier this season when rumors swirled regarding a potential blockbuster trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

With Green currently playing under a four-year, $100 million contract, many league analysts viewed his salary as the primary vehicle to facilitate a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Despite the noise, the Warriors’ front office ultimately declined to move the defensive anchor who helped build their dynasty.

Green argued that his critics lack the perspective to understand what he has contributed to the franchise’s transformation.

If you say that [I should be traded], it makes sense to me,” Green remarked. “You’ve never been here. So you don’t know how to appreciate something for its entirety.

Loyalty, sacrifices, and the Warriors bond

Beyond the call-outs, Green used the platform to reaffirm his deep-rooted commitment to the only NBA franchise he has ever known.

He highlighted that he has never seriously considered leaving Golden State and has even made financial concessions in the past to ensure the team remained competitive.

“I’ve always done right by the team,” Green said, emphasizing that he provides “100% on the court” while maintaining an open line of communication with the front office on roster improvements.

While the 2025-26 campaign has proven that no veteran is entirely “untouchable” in the modern NBA trade market, Green’s message was clear: he isn’t going anywhere without a fight-and he certainly isn’t going to let the “losers” have the last word.
