The curious reason Taylor Swift wants to take Travis Kelce to Australia on their honeymoon

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly preparing to trade the stadium lights for a private, multi-continent honeymoon that insiders describe as a trip of a lifetime.

Following reports that the couple, both 36, plan to wed in June 2026, The US Sun has detailed an expansive travel schedule designed to offer the pair total seclusion.

According to sources close to the couple, the journey is being treated with the same precision as one of Swift‘s world tours, with the primary goal of staying “off the grid” until Kelce is required to report for Kansas City Chiefs training camp in late July.

The rumored itinerary begins with a retreat to the Bahamas for immediate post-wedding relaxation before shifting to a sophisticated European leg.

The couple is expected to spend significant time at Lake Como and along the Italian coast followed by stops in Paris and the French Riviera.

A particularly sentimental addition to the trip is a planned visit to Croatia; earlier in 2025, Travis and his brother Jason Kelce reportedly discovered family roots tied to the region through their mother, Donna Kelce, making the stop a deeply personal exploration for the NFL star.

Australia and Fiji to serve as final chapters

The honeymoon is expected to transition from Europe to a slower pace in the Mediterranean, including a stay on a private island in Greece. From there, the couple will reportedly venture to Singapore and Australia, a continent Swift became “particularly enamoured” with during her previous professional visits.

While in Australia, the couple has no shortage of high-profile hospitality offers; Robert Irwin recently publicly invited the pair to visit or even host festivities at the Australia Zoo, citing the “stunning” backdrop of the African savanna as the ultimate romantic setting.

“It’s a once in a lifetime experience where they can just be themselves, enjoy the time together before going back to work,” an insider told The US Sun. “They are really looking forward to it.”

The timing of the mid-June ceremony and subsequent three-week getaway is strategically aligned with Kelce‘s professional calendar.

Earlier this week, Kelce officially signed a new three-year contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs which includes a $3 million fully-guaranteed reporting bonus earned on the fifth day of training camp.

By scheduling the wedding for June, the couple ensures they can fully immerse themselves in the experience before Kelce returns to the field.
