LeBron James is bursting with pride as Bronny and Bryce begin to break away from his guidance to write their own story

LeBron James is beaming as both of his sons, Bronny James and Bryce James, begin charting their own paths in basketball, moving beyond his shadow.

The young players are making headlines for their individual achievements, bringing immense pride to their father.

On March 27, LeBron celebrated history with Bronny, marking the first father-son assist in NBA history.

On Saturday, he watched as his sons continued to shine independently, demonstrating growth on the court and affirming his pride in their emerging legacies.

Bronny James had a standout performance with the South Bay Lakers, recording 26 points, seven rebounds, and five assists while shooting an efficient 9 of 12 from the field and 6 of 8 from three-point range, including 11 points in the final quarter.

LeBron took to X.com to cheer on his eldest, writing, “Bronny going NUTS right now!!! WOW.” His pride was clear as Bronny continues to balance NBA minutes with G League development, showing consistent progress.

Meanwhile, Bryce James enjoyed an exciting sideline experience as the University of Arizona advanced to the penultimate round of March Madness with a 79-64 victory over Purdue. Though Bryce redshirted this season, he celebrated every play with enthusiasm. LeBron also shared his support for Bryce, tweeting, “[Bear[ DOWN!!!! FINAL [Four] BOUND @ArizonaMBB,” accompanied by a salute emoji. The competitive spirit within the James family was on full display.

LeBron steps up amid Luka Doncic suspension

With Luka Doncic suspended for accumulating his 16th technical foul, LeBron James took on a leadership role for the Los Angeles Lakers, scoring 14 points and recording eight assists during their 116-99 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night. Austin Reaves contributed 15 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter, helping The Lakers pull away late.

Despite Brooklyn’s fightback, with Josh Minott leading the Nets with 18 points and Nic Claxton and Ziaire Williams adding 16 each, LeBron managed rotations, offense, and morale on a taxing 5-1 road trip. Doncic had previously tallied five three-pointers in his 15th 40-point game of the season but received a one-game suspension following a double technical foul with Ziaire Williams.

A family forging its own legacy

LeBron‘s ability to lead the Lakers while his sons thrive independently illustrates the family’s collective talent. Bronny James and Bryce James are no longer just extensions of LeBron; they are building their own identities in basketball, making a name for themselves at both professional and collegiate levels.

Looking ahead, The Lakers prepare to face the Washington Wizards on Monday, March 30, with LeBron expected to lead the team in Doncic‘s absence, continuing to balance his personal career while supporting the rise of the next generation of James basketball talent.
