Raiders’ Mark Davis shocks fans with stunning Maxx Crosby trade stance

The Las Vegas Raiders made headlines recently with a dramatic twist surrounding one of their top players, Maxx Crosby.

Last month, the team reportedly agreed to a blockbuster trade that would have sent the five-time Pro Bowler to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for two first-round draft picks.

The deal, however, fell apart when Crosby failed a physical exam with Baltimore, leaving both teams and fans stunned.

Despite the initial excitement, Crosby reportedly remained enthusiastic about the trade before it collapsed. Sources close to the player indicated he was “giddy” about joining the Ravens.

Yet, when the deal was nullified, Crosby made it clear that he was happy to continue his career with the Raiders, reaffirming his commitment to the franchise.

Speaking to Paul Gutierrez of Raiders.com during the NFL Annual League Meetings in Phoenix, Mark Davis, owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, addressed the possibility of trading Crosby in the future.

Davis’s comments signaled a firm stance that the team is not actively looking to move their defensive star.

Davis emphasizes loyalty to Crosby and the Raiders’ rebuild

“I would say you should talk to (GM) John Spytek and Maxx and (head coach) Klint Kubiak. As I said, I never wanted Maxx to leave, so I’m glad that he’s back and I’m glad that we got Tyler Linderbaum. So I think we got out of that pretty well,” Davis said.

This statement underscores Davis’s commitment to retaining Crosby as a cornerstone of the Raiders’ defense, signaling that any future trade would require an offer too good to refuse.

Fans can breathe easier knowing that the player who has consistently been one of the league’s top pass rushers is likely to remain in Las Vegas for the foreseeable future.

The Raiders have had a busy offseason of roster changes. After finishing 3-14 in 2025, Las Vegas made several high-profile moves, including hiring Super Bowl-winning head coach Pete Carroll, trading for Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith, and selecting running back prospect Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick.

With Klint Kubiak now leading the offense, the team is hoping to rebound and provide a more competitive product for fans in 2026.

While the Raiders are not expected to compete for a playoff berth this season, retaining Crosby gives them a solid defensive foundation and a marquee player to rally around.

The failed trade may have been disappointing for some, but Davis’s clear message is that loyalty to franchise stars is a priority, and fans can expect to see Maxx Crosby terrorizing quarterbacks on the defensive line for years to come.

With a mix of veteran talent and high-profile additions, Las Vegas is preparing to turn things around, and keeping Crosby in the fold will be central to that effort.

For now, Raiders fans can celebrate the return of one of their most dominant players and look forward to a more entertaining season ahead.
