The Kansas City Chiefs are having a legendary offseason, and it’s not just because of moves on the field. Gracie Hunt, the eldest daughter of Chiefs owner and CEO Clark Hunt, just announced her engagement to Derek Green.
The couple shared their big news on April 4, 2026, via a joint Instagram post that featured a massive, stunning ring and a heartfelt caption: “It was always you … And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
The engagement was a full-blown family affair. Gracie’s mom, Tavia Hunt, revealed that both the Hunt and Green families flew out to witness the surprise proposal. Tavia couldn’t contain her excitement, commenting, “DREAMS DO COME TRUE!! Congratulations you two!! We love you so much!!!” Even Gracie’s younger sister, Ava, joined in on the celebration, saying, “I am overjoyed .”
If the name Derek Green sounds familiar to Chiefs Kingdom, it should. He’s the son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green, who led the franchise from 2001 to 2007. Derek, 26, is an SMU grad-just like Gracie-and currently works as a senior manager at Creative Planning in Dallas. While Gracie, 27, is a successful influencer and former pageant queen with eyes on eventually running the family’s $24.8 billion sports empire, Derek is carving out his own path in the sports and entertainment world.

They met more than 7 years ago
The road to this engagement has been a sweet one. The pair actually met 7.5 years ago at Arrowhead Stadium, but they didn’t “hard launch” their relationship until April 2025. At the time, Gracie leaned into her inner Swiftie, referencing Taylor Swift’s “Folklore” era by writing, “After meeting 7.5 years ago in this place… all along there was some invisible string.”
Since then, they’ve been inseparable. Gracie often shares glimpses of their life, recently posting a vacation video with the caption, “‘As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.’ Proverbs 27:17. Find someone who opens your eyes & makes you a better person.”
This happy ending comes about a year after Gracie’s split from former quarterback Cody Keith in January 2025
