Reyam Lucas, a 27-year-old footballer for Soneca Paredao, died after jumping from a natural waterfall in Itubera, in the state of Bahia, Brazil. The amateur player, who was also a content creator with more than 20,400 followers on Instagram, entered the water in the area known as Pancada Grande, a waterfall renowned for its height.

After diving in, he did not return to the surface, which raised the alarm and a search operation was launched. After several hours of searching, his body was found in the same place.

Authorities indicated that while initial indications point to a possible accidental drowning (he was probably swept away by the current and drowned), the case will be subjected to a formal autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Pancada Grande waterfall is one of the best-known natural spots on the coast of Bahia and stands out for its height, which makes it a tourist attraction in the region.
