JetBlue Airways has introduced summer seasonal flights connecting Dublin and, soon, Edinburgh with Boston and New York JFK, enriching the transatlantic travel options for the summer season up to September 30. The airline’s expansion into Dublin comes in response to high demand, with the United States travelers making up almost 20% of all overseas visits to Ireland, marking Dublin as a highly anticipated destination among JetBlue’s network.

The daily flights from New York JFK to Dublin take off at 20:47, reaching the Irish capital at 09:00 the next morning, with return flights departing Dublin at 10:45 and arriving in JFK at 13:22. Similarly, the Boston to Dublin route sees flights departing at 20:42 and arriving at 08:20 the following day, with the return journey starting at 10:55 from Dublin and touching down in Boston at 12:57.

This new service positions JetBlue in direct competition with Aer Lingus, which offers year-round flights to both Boston and New York JFK from Dublin. Delta Airlines also provides year-round flights between JFK and Dublin, in addition to seasonal service between Boston and Dublin. Starting May 22, JetBlue will further expand its European connections with daily seasonal flights from New York JFK to Edinburgh.

Joanna Geraghty, CEO of JetBlue, emphasized the significance of JetBlue’s entry into the Dublin market, anticipating it to kickstart a fresh wave of competitive fares and high-quality service between Ireland and the Northeastern United States. Geraghty highlighted the timing of the launch, aligning with Saint Patrick’s Day and the upcoming summer holiday period, as an opportunity for both business and leisure travelers to experience JetBlue’s acclaimed Mint and core services.

This expansion by JetBlue is expected to significantly impact travel and tourism between these cities, offering more choices for travelers and fostering increased tourism exchanges. The introduction of these routes underscores JetBlue’s commitment to connecting key tourist destinations across the Atlantic, promising a boost in tourism activities and economic benefits for the involved cities.
