Stefon Diggs opened up on how much he’s enjoying life at his new organization as he calls the Houston Texans a “breath of fresh air”, leading to the question of just how miserable he actually was with the Buffalo Bills in New York.

Diggs was traded to the Texans for a 2025 Draft pick in news that left NFL fans stunned, but didn’t come as too much of a surprise for the wide receiver who admitted it was in the works for some time.

The 30-year-old was still a solid receiver after posting 107 receptions from 160 targets and eight touchdowns through 2023, meaning CJ Stroud has a good target to aim at going forwards and the Texans are making sure he’s very happy as a result.

“They’re very welcoming,” Diggs said to media. “Very open arms, and I just feel like it’s important for me to be a part of things like that.

“It’s genuine. You thrive in that space. You thrive in a space where you’re loved. Thrive in a space of being around those who truly care and truly want to see you win.”

Diggs is a four-time Pro Bowl nominee and a first-team All-Pro whilst he led the NFL in receptions in 2020 and receiving yards too, highlighting just how effective he is. Adding to that, he’s recorded 67 receiving touchdowns across his career for 9995 yards from 810 receptions as he impressed onlooked after pick a Round 5 draft pick in 2015.

Diggs not just on board for his talent

Now aged 30, Diggs has been brought on board not only to offer some key plays but to provide some much needed leadership and guidance to the youngsters in the roster, including Stroud.

Of course, Stroud is highly talented as evidenced by his rookie season but he could definitely lean from some of Diggs‘ experience to take his game to the next level and this is something that the Texans have thought about already.

“Diggs has come in and been a leader,” CJ Stroud said. “Which I’m proud of him for, just really has been unselfish and wanted to see other guys eat.

“That was his main thing. He wanted to be around other dogs, and he stepped into that role where there is a dog everywhere. He looks right, he looks left, there is going to be a dog.

“He wanted that and that’s what we bring to the table. He’s been nothing but amazing so far, and I am very excited to work with him.”
