Snoop Dogg was making headlines in the NBA world after Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves after what seemed to be some trash talk with Luka Doncic.
In the third quarter, fans thought they saw Doncic saying to Snoop in the crowd: “Who’s crying mother******?”.
Unfortunately for those who love the drama, Snoop has since confirmed that this comment from Doncic was not actually aimed at him.
Snoop Dogg shares the detail
Speaking on the WHOO’S House Podcast, he said: “I was in town, I had a show the next night. I’m a basketball fan, I’ve never seen Luka play live, I wanna see them get down. Kyrie is a friend of mine, just wanna see good basketball, and Anthony Edwards is a bad m**********r.
“Luka wasn’t talking to me, it was somebody that was talking s**t… When Luka took the lead, he was like ‘Who’s crying now m**********r?’ I was like this n***a a dog. He gets down, I like his get down ’cause he meets the press.”
Doncic certainly had the last laugh that day as the Timberwolves were eviscerated by the Mavs, at one point pulling out a 36-point lead. They won the game 124-103 to secure their place in the NBA Finals where the Boston Celtics were waiting.
However, it is the Celtics who are leading 3-1 going into Game 5 which is certainly not what Doncic had in mind as he goes looking for his first championship ring.
