Buffalo Bills’ Mike White jokes he can’t be kept around teammate after broken rib drama

The Buffalo Bills‘ Mike White insisted he can’t be kept in the same locker room as Matt Milano after the linebacker left the quarterback with a broken rib whilst he was playing for the New York Jets in 2022.

White is now with the Bills after leaving the Jets in 2022, followed by a middle stint with the Miami Dolphins. He will now serve as back-up to Josh Allen but it’s a few other players he’s watching out for instead.

Josh Allen confesses the epic moment he trolls Patrick Mahomes

Ed Oliver and Milano put in a series of very tough tackles on him during a December clash in his final year with the Jets, leaving him with a fractured rib, as he joked he can’t be around either of those two guys now.

“I just can’t be locker room mates with Matt Milano,” White told press. “When I go to Highmark [Stadium] I’m sure there’s going to be a piece of my rib on the 30-yard line.”

So what is it with the Buffalo Bills and hurting New York Jets quarterbacks? After White suffered his hit, the Bills then took Aaron Rodgers out at the start of 2023 as a sack left him with a torn Achilles tendon.

For White, there seems to be no bad blood and the Bills organization confirmed Milano has already apologized to their latest quarterback ahead of the upcoming season.

“We’ve obviously gone against Mike,” general manager Brandon Beane said according to Bills Wire. “I think everyone in here is very familiar with his career, all the time in the AFC East.

“The thing I have always liked about Mike and respected about him was whether he started the game or came into the game, he came in guns a blazing. No fear.”

Who do the Bills play in Week 1?

The Buffalo Bills kick off the 2024/25 NFL season on home turf at the Highmark Stadium as they welcome the Arizona Cardinals to town on Sunday, September 8.

The game will start at 13:00 ET/10:00 PT and can be viewed live on CBS as well as Paramount+ and Fubo TV.
