Aaron Rodgers played a few seconds last year and got injured, this time in Week 1 he did managed to stay healthy, however the end result was equally devastating as the San Francisco 49ers dominated the New York Jets by beating them 32 to 19.
San Francisco was left on the brink of glory in Super Bowl LVIII, but they started on the right foot this season by crushing the Jets at home, so the 49ers show that they are once again a team contending to lift the Vince Lombardi.
The Jets’ running attack was null, they added less than 40 total yards so Aaron Rodgers had to carry the entire offense, which caused it to become predictable and San Francisco’s defense took control.
Dominating on defense
The San Francisco defense began to do its job since the second offensive series where they recovered a fumble to score the first three points of the game and despite Aaron Rodgers’ Jets responding with a Touchdown, the 49ers never lost control of the game.
Despite the significant loss of Christian McCaffrey, the offensive system orchestrated by Kyle Shanahan was key and used all the great weapons it has on offense to do damage and Jordan Manson ran for more than 100 yards.
San Francisco had a streak of five consecutive offensive drives scoring points, which made the game uphill for Rodgers’ Jets, who threw an interception at the end of the first half and never had real chances.
The Jets have to travel to Tennessee to fac the Titans in Week 2 and the 49ers will travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings.
