Tyreek Hill’s 2024/25 NFL season almost began in disaster when the Miami Dolphins’ star was detained just hours before the Week 1 opener, as his agent slams the arrest as “completely unnecessary.”
The wide receiver was stopped for a traffic violation in Miami just hours ahead of facing the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, September 8, before he was later released from custody.
And it was good news for the Dolphins too as they won a slender 20-17 contest in which Hill made a team-leading 130 yards from seven receptions for a touchdown to deliver an opening night victory for the AFC East side.
However, the drama is not over yet as 30-year-old’s agent slammed the arrest, made on the grounds of reckless driving, with Drew Rosenhouse having strong words for the local law enforcement in the Floridian city.
“Completely unnecessary,” is how Rosenhouse described the incident as per ESPN. “I’m very distraught about it. We’re going to have to look into it.”
Hill was also said to have got into a verbal altercation with the police officers at the scene, as they chose to put the NFL star in handcuffs before he was eventually cited and released, according to Jeff Darlington.
Who do the Miami Dolphins play in Week 2?
The NFL is back for the 2024/25 season and there is no rest in the AFC East for the Dolphins as they welcome Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills to the Hard Rock Stadium in a mouth-watering clash between the two division favorites.
The game will take place in Miami Gardens on Thursrday, September 12 at 20:15 ET/17:15 PT and will be broadcast live on Amazon’s NFL on Prime Video show with Al Michaels leading the play-by-play.
The Buffaloes won their Week 1 match against the Arizona Cardinals 34-28, with Allen throwing for 232 yards and two touchdowns from 23 attempts.
