In all sports, winning championships and trophies is what every athlete aspires to do, from the day they begin playing competitively until the day they retire. Unfortunately, not everyone can walk away from the game saying they have a title under their belt.
Despite their careers being far from over, Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler are two stars who haven’t been able to lift an NBA Finals trophy yet. That has left them vulnerable to criticism. Butler has gotten very close on two occasions with the Miami Heat, while Embiid is yet to make a Conference Finals with the Philadelphia 76ers. Last season, both had to watch Jayson Tatum and their Eastern Conference rival Boston Celtics lift the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
Deuce Tatum to get his own personal NBA Championship ring
Not only did Tatum get one before them; Jayson’s 6-year-old son, Deuce, will be getting his own personal ring as well. That has fans clowning both Butler and Embiid.
Life in the NBA is tough, especially when you can’t say you have a ring in your repertoire. Winning one is not easy at all, as many great players can attest. James Harden hasn’t been able to do it, neither has Chris Paul or Paul George.
Even legends like Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Allen Iverson and many others couldn’t do it. But, technically, Deuce Tatum could.
