The Los Angeles Chargers‘ Joey Bosa had quite a scare on Monday, September 17 when his home was raided by the Los Angeles Police Department with their guns out, only to stand down after what appeared to be a false alarm.
The LAPD were reportedly arriving to deal with a report of an attempted burglary near Bosa’s home in the city around 17:00, following the tripping of a security system that’s supposed to allow the NFL star to relax without hassle.
With the officers suspecting the would-be burglars could still be in the house, according to TMZ, they entered with their firearms drawn before thinks cooled down. Later investigations indicated there was no sign of a break-in or any crime.
Bosa, brother of the San Francisco 49ers‘ Nick, has been with the Chargers ever since he was drafted into the NFL as the third overall pick in 2016, immediately going on to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.
He has also made four appearances in the Pro Bowl, although the 29-year-old hasn’t appeared in one since 2021, thanks to career stats of 330 total tackles, 69 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and three pass deflections.
Bosa currently has nine tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble through the opening two games of the 2024/25 NFL season.
Who do the Chargers play in Week 3?
The Los Angeles Chargers have began the 2024/25 NFL season in fine form with victories over the Las Vegas Raiders (22-10) and the Carolina Panthers (26-3) to take an early lead in the AFC West, even ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs.
They’ll look to carry on their momentum on Sunday, September 22 when they travel to the Acrisure Stadium to face the Pittsburgh Steelers, with kick off expected at 13:00 ET/11:00 PT in Week 3.
