The Miami Dolphins wide receiver’s legal powerhouse, which includes top-tier lawyers like Devon M. Jacob, Julius B. Collins and Jeffrey A. Neiman-who previously worked with Ben Crump on the George Floyd civil case-has announced their mission to hold law enforcement accountable and demand change.
Hill’s confrontation with Miami-Dade police occurred just before the Dolphins’ season opener. Detained but not arrested, the wide receiver described a troubling interaction in which Officer Danny Torres kneeled on his back during a routine traffic stop.
“What if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill?” he asked, suggesting that the situation could have ended much worse had he not been a high-profile athlete. Hill admitted that his reaction wasn’t perfect but firmly maintained that the police response was excessive.
Fighting for the change that Floyd’s death started
The Miami star’s legal team is now calling for the firing of Officer Torres, with attorney Neiman stating, “Miami-Dade should have fired Officer Torres long ago.” Collins went further, declaring that if Hill weren’t a famous, wealthy Black man, the incident might have ended in tragedy.
Jacob, on his part, compared Hill’s case withGeorge Floyd’sdeath in 2020 by saying, “Tyreek intends to continue the national movement for necessary police reform that George Floyd’s death started.”

Bodycam footage released by Miami-Dade PD shows a tense exchange between Hill and the officers, escalating to a physical altercation. Hill’s legal team argues the footage exposes a deeper issue within the department.
