The controversial moment that left the Cowboys and Steelers with players being disciplined by the NFL

During last Sunday’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers, a small altercation between two players resulted in a pair of fines. The NFL analyzed it and determined that should be the punishment.

Right after the Cowboys scored what ended up being the winning touchdown, on the ensuing possession the Steelers started to lateral the ball to try and score as time expired. Dallas defensive back Jourdan Lewis fell on the loose ball to secure the victory but things were just getting started.

He came near Steelers wide receiver George Pickens and said something to him. This made Pickens pull Lewis’ face mask and throw him to the ground. Some pushing and shoving started after that.

The strong message from the league

Jourdan Lewis proceeded to walk to the locker room after the game and reporters and others near by heard him say “Pittsburgh needs a catcher” and “George Pickens is weak.”

After all this, the NFL analyzed the interaction and proceeded to look for the fair punishment for both and it was determined that fining Lewis $11,255 for taunting and Pickens $10,230 for grabbing the mask was what should happen.

Pickens only had three receptions on seven targets and 26 receiving yards against Dallas. His yardage was a season low and now sources have said that coaches have told him to keep his cool in upcoming games.
