Raiders delivering a twist in the Davante Adams sweepstakes

The New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers are all in on the fight for Davante Adams, however it might not matter. A late report indicates that the Las Vegas Raiders might not trade him at all.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported late Saturday night that the Raiders are “adamant that they won’t simply trade Adams for the sake of trading him; they are content to hold onto the three-time All Pro if their conditions are not satisfied.”

Tom Brady sparks outrage by wearing Raider’s cap

While it is well known that Las Vegas is asking for at least a second-round pick for the wide receiver, team have called and asked for the wideout but so far no team has reached the complete demand the silver and black are asking.

Teams are pushing hard

The Las Vegas Raiders don’t really want to pay Davante Adams the remaining $16.89 million for this season, so a lot of teams that want him will have to eat a lot of the money of his contract.

There is a potential out on his contract after de 2024 season and this could help a team with some cap space left this year, but still they have to meet what the Raiders want and so far, despite the calls a deal has not been done.

Right now Davante is injured and he got off to a relatively slow start to the season. He made 18 catches for 209 yards just before his Week 4 hamstring injury. He will not play against the Steelers this weekend but still he is a valuable missing piece to a franchise, the question is if in fact the Raiders will trade him.
