Larsa Pippen doesn’t make son Scotty Pippen Jr. nervous: Shows him off at Memphis Grizzlies game

Larsa Pippen once again stepped into the role of a proud mother as she cheered on her son, Scotty Pippen Jr., during his preseason game with the Memphis Grizzlies against the Chicago Bulls.

With Derrick Rose recently leaving the team, Scotty Jr. has a valuable opportunity to secure a spot on the Grizzlies’ roster.

Despite being miles away in Miami, Larsa didn’t miss the moment, posting photos on her Instagram stories to show her unwavering support for her son as he played at the United Center in Chicago.

During Saturday’s game, Scotty Pippen Jr. proved his skills on the court, contributing 11 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the Grizzlies’ narrow 124-121 victory over the Bulls.

Larsa couldn’t contain her excitement, writing, “Let’s go @spippenjr,” on social media, sharing her enthusiasm for her son’s impressive performance as he chases a full-time role with the team.

Scotty Pippen Jr.’s Journey to Secure His Place

As Scotty Pippen Jr. continues to fight for a permanent spot on the Grizzlies’ roster, he has shown promise with a two-way contract and the potential to step into a critical role.

With Derrick Rose‘s recent retirement opening up space, Scotty Jr. could serve as a third-string guard behind Ja Morant and Marcus Smart. His strong showing in preseason games has bolstered his chances of making the final cut.

On the court, Scotty Jr. has been competing with Japanese guard Yuki Kawamura, who had two points and eight assists in the same game against the Bulls. Scotty Jr., however, started his career with the LA Lakers as an undrafted rookie and spent much of his early days in the G League.

He was signed by the Grizzlies in January, and since then, his performance has steadily improved. He averaged 12.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 21 games, and now, with Rose’s departure, Scotty Jr. looks set to claim a bigger role within the Grizzlies.

A Legacy of Basketball in the Pippen Family

Scotty Pippen Jr. is no stranger to the pressure of basketball. He is the oldest son of Larsa Pippen and Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, who is best known for his championship years alongside Michael Jordan.

While Scotty Jr. followed in his father’s footsteps by pursuing a professional basketball career, his siblings took different paths. His brother Justin is currently committed to playing for Michigan, while Preston chose not to pursue basketball.

The youngest of the family, Sophia, has already made her mark in the entertainment world, appearing on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors.”

Scottie Pippen also has four other children from previous relationships. His eldest son, Antron, tragically passed away in 2021.

Additionally, he had twin daughters, Taylor and Tyler, with Sonya Roby, but Tyler passed away shortly after birth. Scottie also has a daughter named Sierra with former fiance Yvette De Leon.

As Scotty Pippen Jr. continues to develop his career in the NBA, he has a strong support system behind him, with Larsa always proudly cheering him on from the sidelines.

With a bright future ahead, the young player is making his own name while continuing the legacy of his famous father.
