Travis Hunter could team up with a Super Bowl winner in 2025: Analyst reveals Buffaloes star’s destination

Travis Hunter is one of the top prospects heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. Most analysts believe he will be among the top five picks. In fact, a recent analysis says the Colorado Buffaloes’ dual threat could catch passes from none other than Super Bowl winner Matthew Stafford.

The Rams have had a rocky start to the season. With just one win and four losses, the Super Bowl LVI champions are experiencing a very bad moment. They are dealing with multiple injuries and the loss of some of their stars.

Hunter, on the other hand, is having one of his best seasons in the NCAA. As a receiver, Deion Sanders’ protg has 46 catches, 561 yards, and six touchdowns. As a cornerback, Hunter has 15 tackles, three defended passes, and two interceptions.

Even though the 2025 draft is six months away, analysts are already trying to guess where Hunter will end up. One recent theory says the Rams could finish the season so far down in the standings that they would have a shot at the jackpot.

Hunter is the Rams’ missing piece

NFL Trade Rumors analyst Ethan Woodie recently speculated that the Rams could end up with the fourth pick in the upcoming draft and would take the opportunity to land Hunter. He noted that the Rams need talent on both sides of the ball, and Hunter would fit the bill perfectly.

“The Rams desperately need a lockdown cornerback, and Hunter can be that guy,” Woodie explained. He also noted that the Buffaloes star “Could also shine as a receiver on this roster, and head coach Sean McVay would run some wild plays to maximize Hunter’s skillset.”

The Rams’ roster took a number of hits early in the season. In the first two weeks alone, they lost receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, guard Jonah Jackson, and safety John Johnson III, among others. With such a battered depth chart, Woodie sees little hope for the Rams.

Hunter and Stafford together?

Despite losing Kupp and Nacua, Stafford is putting up good numbers. With 118 completions on 175 attempts, 1,238 yards gained, and just three interceptions, his production is at his usual level. Nevertheless, he is struggling in the scoring department, with just three passes in the end zone this season.

Hunter’s addition to the Rams’ roster could be the breath of fresh air the team needs. While it’s difficult for him to play defense and offense continuously, his skills would make the team unpredictable, giving Stafford and McVay another chance to make it to the Super Bowl.
