Lionel Messi was honored with a truly special recognition on Thursday. The global superstar received the MARCA America Award, given to the player with the most titles in the history of the sport.
After Messi received a special painting and then the award, Messi stuck around to take pictures and even signed jerseys of some attendees. One specific attendee didn’t have a jersey on hand, so he got creative and asked Messi to sign his arm, in order to get Messi’s autograph tattooed shortly after the event.

The fan, once the event was over, wasted no time putting Messi’s signature to good use. He went to a tattoo parlor and got the autograph imprinted on, marking a lasting memory for him.
Messi was all smiles throughout the event, which featured him receiving a special painting made by Javier Tortosa, and the sculpted award which was designed by Carlos Benavidez.
Messi is now preparing to finish the MLS regular season with Inter Miami before starting the playoffs in just a short period. He’s coming off of an incredible hat-trick against Bolivia while with Argentina.
