The Los Angeles Lakers won their second game of the 2024 NBA campaign, this time against the Phoenix Suns with a score of 123-116 and that is historic. This is the first time the team starts a season 2-0 since the 2010-11 season.
While LeBron Janes is the leader for the team, Anthony Davis also continues to be on fire, as he is the first Lakers player to have back-to-back 30-point games in the first two games of the season since Kobe Bryant did it way back in 2005.
Davis also had 8 rebounds, 4 assists and a pair of blocks, while LeBron added 21 points and Austin Reaves helped the cause with 26 points; James and Reaves both had 8 assists and 4 rebounds.
Mounting the comeback
The Phoenix Suns were dominating the game as they built a 48-26 early in the second period, but the Los Angeles Lakers came storming back against Kevin Durant and company to take a two-point lead heading into the fourth quarter to never look back.
Fans and even certain insiders are praising J.J. Reddick as the team not only has won their first two games of the season, but the way he goes about with his players means that he has created a healthy locker room.
While it is still way early to assure that the Lakers will have success with Reddick in control, the attitude surely seems different than with other coaches in the past. The Lakers added to the comeback wins in the city of Los Angeles on Friday night, as the Dodgers came back to beat the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the World Series as LA fans went crazy all over town.
