The Kansas City Chiefs are the only undefeated team in the NFL after beating the Las Vegas Raiders 27-20 in a close matchup this Sunday, which helped the team coached by Andy Reid to reach their seventh victory of the season.
Despite the tensions and the challenge presented by the Raiders, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs showed why they are one of the most competitive teams in the league, reaffirming their position as serious contenders and making it clear that they are looking to defend their Super Bowl title.
During a play on the fourth quarter, Mahomes threw a pass and a couple of seconds later Las Vegas Raiders defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson ran into him, which caused the quarterback to fall hard to the ground.
The referees threw a flag on the play and called a roughing the passer penalty on a the Raiders.
Despite the rough play, Mahomes was able to continue the game and drove his team to victory, which makes the Chiefs the number one team in the NFL.
The superstar quarterback accumulated 262 yards and threw two touchdown passes, although he also suffered an interception in a game that was not without its difficulties.
Mahomes left his mark on the game
Despite some stumbles on the field, Mahomes showed his ability to keep up the pace of the game, generating key moments for his team. His performance, while not the most outstanding of the season, was enough to secure a solid lead for the Chiefs’ offense.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ attempt at playful banter with Mahomes has backfired spectacularly. After mocking the star quarterback early during Training Camp with a Kermit the Frog puppet, the Raiders are now facing the consequences on the field.
