The Dallas Cowboys suffered a 42-10 defeat to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, and the loss has generated a series of negative reactions. The Cowboys cornerback, Trevon Diggs, was very upset with a reporter when he walked through the halls of Levi’s Stadium.
With the loss to the 49ers, it is now two in a row for the Cowboys, after they were blown out 47-9 by the Detroit Lions in Week 6. Diggs did not like the questions from WFAA’s Mike Leslie, regarding social media posts he made after Dallas’ loss to San Francisco.
The post on Leslie’s X account included the message: “What did Trevon Diggs do on this play?”. This was in reference to a 43-yard reception by George Kittle in the third quarter of the game, where Diggs did not cover the 49ers tight end. The play ended in a touchdown for San Francisco and was the moment when they extended their lead.
“About where you get your arguments to ask me that question, you don’t know football. You can’t go out there (referring to the field) and do anything, mind your business, man. Stop playing with me, brother,” Diggs said.
To which the reporter replied: “I’m just asking a question, Trevon. I’m glad you answered.”
Diggs was already retreating to the locker room, but upon hearing the reporter’s response, he returned to confront him again.
“That’s not a credible question. Is that all you got from the whole game?” he said.
Leslie responded again: “We can talk more about it.”
Diggs, very upset, decided not to continue the conversation and left the mixed zone.
Dallas’ next rivals to try to get out of the rut
After three weeks (one of them for rest) without a win, the Dallas Cowboys will have to focus on the game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, November 3. The Falcons are coming off a 31-26 win over the Buccaneers and have a 5-3 record, so they will not be an easy opponent.
The next step will be to face the Philadelphia Eagles on November 10 in week 10. The Eagles also won their last game against the Cincinnati Bengals 17-31 and have a 5-2 record.
Dallas and Trevon Diggs are eager to get Micah Parsons back on defense, and all indications are that he could return against the Falcons this weekend after a month out with an ankle injury.
