There was a lot of movement in the NBA this offseason. Perhaps one of the more underrated storylines was the departure of Klay Thompson from the Golden State Warriors. Drafted by the Bay Area franchise in 2011, Thompson spent 12 seasons with the team, forming a true dynasty alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. But after a season in which he saw his role change, he knew it was time for a switch.
Thompson stayed in the Western Conference, joining the Dallas Mavericks to play with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Thompson has wasted no time getting acclimated, as he’s currently shooting a career-high 45.5% from three-point range. It’s only a small sample, but it seems he’s fitting in seamlessly in Dallas. Although the on-court performance has been great, Thompson did something off the court that grossed some people out.
Klay Thompson picks his nose during Mavericks-Jazz game
During Dallas’ win over the Utah Jazz on Monday night, Thompson was caught on the TV broadcast intensely picking his nose. Fans were rightfully surprised by just how aggressive he was doing it.
Those are the types of liberties and privileges you’re allowed when you’re a multi-millionaire NBA star and a four-time NBA champion. He likely got some blowback from his Mavs teammates once they saw what he was doing, but it probably won’t affect the team’s chemistry. After all, we’ve seen Doncic do some weird things on the bench, too.
