Aaron Rodgers is having a tough year with the New York Jets and he might be feeling the struggles of a 40-year-old NFL player that is looking to still win while extending his career in a team that, to many in underachieving.
On Sunday, New England Patriots defensive lineman Davon Godchaux said that if given time, he could have chased down the Jets signal caller during the game. Rodgers agreed with him on Tuesday.
“I expect to be able to do a lot more this week … and hopefully I’ll be back to my faster-than-Godchaux speed,” Rodgers said to the media, as he acknowledged his lack of mobility due a lot of injuries he has had lately.
The fountain of youth
There are a few steps that Aaron Rodgers has lost for obvious reasons, but still what worries many is the fact that he has not found rhythm and all that even after having Davante Adams for two games.
With that said, he explained about the cayenne pepper and water that Thomas Morstead gave him Sunday. “I’m not sure how much that’s playing a factor,” Rodgers admitted, but he has used it.
“(Morstead) gave me a little fountain of youth he said he’s been taking for a while,” Rodgers said, while showing a smile. “All legal, of course.” Only time will tell if his longevity in the sport translates into late career success.
