49ers’ Charvarius Ward speaks out on heartbreaking loss

It has been a rough stretch of days for San Francisco 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward, as his daughter has recently passed away and has broken his silence on the complicated situation.

This past Thursday the NFL star shared a photo of himself and his 23-month-old daughter Amani Joy on social media. The player took to Instagram Stories to post the emotional image.

“My soul is bleeding. I need you Amani. You did not deserve this,” Ward captioned the picture, adding four heart emojis and the song “Death Ain’t Easy” by Lil Durk. In the picture he is seen in a couch with her all cuddle up creating a very touching memory.

Hard to concentrate on football

It was on Tuesday of this week that Charvarius Ward announced the death of his daughter, who he shares with Monique Cook, his girlfriend. The announcement also came through a post on social media.

He shared a photo on Instagram with another heartfelt caption. “We are heartbroken that our beautiful baby girl, Amani Joy passed away on Monday morning,” he wrote. “She was the best blessing we could have asked for, and her joyous spirit made us smile from ear to ear.”

It is unknown if he will play in the team’s next game but they need him on defense. After the Niners beat the Dallas Cowboys, they share first place in the NFC West with the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals but look to get above .500.
