Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert is one of the best defenders in the NBA. The big man from France has established himself as one of the best basketball players when it comes to protecting the rim.
However, Gobert knows his limits and which players he does not want to mess with and that was pretty clear Friday night when Minnesota played against the Denver Nuggets.
Gobert avoids Westbrook at all costs
During a play on the fourth quarter, Gobert was taunted by Nuggets guard Christian Braun after a great dunk. The French center didn’t appreciate his rival’s gesture one bit and tried to get back at him. A scuffle ensued and the players had to be separated.
It was at that moment that Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook started running towards Gobert. When the center saw his rival, he quickly moved away with a scared face.
The referees gave Gobert and Braun technical fouls and de-escalated the situation.
The Wolves got the win 119-116 over the Nuggets, which improved Minnesota’s record to 3-2, while Denver fell to 2-3.
