US Government Set To “Pull Back The Curtain” On UFOs In Public Hearing This Week

The US government is preparing to “pull back the curtain” on UFOs in yet another public hearing this week. Transparency is the name of the game, so the whole hearing will be freely broadcast live to the public.

The hearing – titled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth” – will take place on Capitol Hill at 11:30 am (ET) on November 13. The proceedings are open to the public and will be live-streamed online in the video player below.

“This second hearing on the topic of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) will attempt to further pull back the curtain on secret UAP research programs conducted by the U.S. government, and undisclosed findings they have yielded,” the Committee On Oversight and Accountability said in an announcement

“The hearing will examine the Department of Defense’s (DoD) reluctance to appropriately declassify material on UAPs, and ways to make sure the American public is better informed on this topic,” it added.

Expert witnesses in the UAP hearing will include:

  • Dr Tim Gallaudet: An oceanographer and retired Rear Admiral in the US Navy who’s led efforts to destigmatize the subject of UAPs
  • Luis Elizondo: former head of the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program
  • Michael Gold: a member of NASA UAP Independent Study Team
  • Michael Shellenberger: co-founder of the Breakthrough Institute

What can we expect?

Some previous public hearings on UAPs have been considered somewhat disappointing to ardent “believers”. In 2022, the first public Congressional hearing on UAPs in nearly 60 years concluded with some politicians describing it as “a total joke” and “frustrating”.

That said, it did disclose several new insights to the public, including two new videos of purported sightings. It also revealed that the US Department of Defense has gathered at least 400 sightings in recent times, including 11 near-collisions.

A landmark Pentagon report published in March 2024 concluded that there is “no evidence” that any government investigation, academic research, or official review has ever “confirmed that any sighting of a UAP represented extraterrestrial technology.” It also denied that the US was involved in any form of cover-up of alien encounters.

The report didn’t come to any solid conclusions about the nature of UAP sightings, though it leans toward the perspective that these phenomena are likely human-made technology, perhaps belonging to a foreign military power.

So, while you should certainly not expect the US government to unveil hard evidence of extraterrestrial life visiting planet Earth, you can expect to gain some new snippets of information about UAP sightings and the investigations into them.

“This is our second hearing on the topic of UAPs and the American people are tired of the obfuscation and refusal to release information by the federal government. Americans deserve to understand what the government has learned about UAP sightings, and the nature of any potential threats these phenomena pose,” Nancy Mace – Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation Chairwoman – and Glenn Grothman – Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs Chairwoman, said in a joint statement.

“We can only ensure that understanding by providing consistent, systemic transparency. We look forward to hearing from expert witnesses on ways to shed more light and bring greater accountability to this issue,” said the pair, who are leading the hearing.
