Christian Pulisic added a unique flair to his goal celebration Monday night, showcasing the viral “Trump dance” during the U.S. Men’s National Team’s (USMNT) 4-2 victory over Jamaica.
The viral celebration has gained traction in various sports leagues. It was recently popularized by NFL stars like Nick Bosa and Brock Bowers, as well as UFC fighter Jon Jones, who performed the dance in front of Donald Trump himself at UFC 309 in Madison Square Garden.

The match, held in St. Louis, marked a strong finish for the USMNT’s 2024 calendar and secured their spot in the Concacaf Nations League semifinals next March.
Pulisic opened the scoring in the 13th minute, finishing off a brilliant team play that left Jamaica’s defense scrambling.
After the goal, the USMNT captain broke into the viral dance, a move made famous in sports circles following Donald Trump’s reelection as U.S. president.
When asked about the team’s performance after the game, Pulisic said, “We came out really hot. We should definitely feel good after these results. We’re obviously learning a lot of new things obviously with the new coach.”
The match also saw Pulisic score a second goal in the first half, capping off a stellar performance that gave him Man of the Match honors.
Teammates Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah added to the USMNT’s dominant display, which left Jamaica struggling to keep pace.
The win ensures the U.S. will compete in the Concacaf Nations League semifinals at SoFi Stadium in March, with an eye on defending their three-time championship streak.
It also earned them a spot in the 2025 Gold Cup, continuing their momentum under new leadership.
While Pulisic and other European-based players will take a break until March, the USMNT’s MLS-based roster is set to participate in January friendlies against Venezuela and another to-be-announced opponent.
For now, fans will remember this match for Pulisic’s standout performance-and his lighthearted embrace of a viral trend.
