Man apologizes to Jason Kelce after insulting him for not signing an autograph

A man who abused the 2017 NFL champion, Jason Kelce, for snubbing his request for an autograph after an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live has apologised to the ex-Philadelphia Eagle.

The moment came with the 37-year-old, who ended his career following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, was heading to a car on November 21 with lots of fans looking to catch a crumb of recognition from the former center.

But the 6ft 3in athlete chose to simply walk past them, upsetting the cohort of admirers. However, one person took it too far by cussing him out and accusing him of, “being a d**k” before adding he isn’t “anybody special”.

Kelce then tried to calm the situation by saying he wasn’t trying to insult anyone only for the man to continue the tirade by adding, “I don’t care – it’s not the autograph, it’s the attitude.”

The 37-year-old then revealed he never signs autographs for fans who have followed him around, only for this to further provoke the irritated groupie who declared, “We’re not following you. We get every guest that comes here,” earning the support of those around him.

The man concluded, “Morgan Freeman, Harrison Ford have the time, but you don’t? F**k you,” but received a surprise as Kelce eventually came over to sign some autographs and apologized to those waiting.

It prompted a change from the irate fan, who suddenly tried to make amends and played down the incident although he asked for any footage not to be put onto the internet.

“Do not put that on the f**king internet,” the man told those around him. “[I’m] ashamed of that moment. I have love for you.”

Kelce accepts the apology

Kelce chose to be the bigger person in the moment and accepted the apology from the fan, shook his hand and offered an autograph.

It’s likely that he has bigger things on his mind than upset members of the public as the incident came a day before his wife announced she is expecting their fourth child together.

He had been on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss an upcoming television show on ESPN, which starts on January 3, 2025. He says the show will help him balance his media career and his life as a family dad.
