Russell Westbrook has last laugh as he hits back at Lakers crowd

Russell Westbrook made history earlier this week by becoming the first player ever to record 200 career triple-doubles.

However, on Saturday, he reminded everyone of his talent when the Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 116-90.

Westbrook, despite being booed by the Lakers’ crowd, turned the negativity into a statement performance, showing he’s still one of the league’s best playmakers.

Westbrook finished the game with 14 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds.

His standout moment came in the fourth quarter when he hit a clutch three-pointer, extending Denver’s lead to a commanding 116-90. As the ball sailed through the net, Westbrook responded.

“Boom B***h,” he shouted, aiming the comment aimed directly at the Lakers’ fans, clearly relishing his success against his former team.

After the game, Westbrook took to Instagram, posting a video with the simple caption “LOL” and pairing it with Kendrick Lamar‘s “Not Like Us” as the soundtrack.

This playful jab at his critics made it clear that Westbrook is unbothered by the criticism he faced during his time in Los Angeles and is enjoying his redemption.

Lakers are struggling, even after moving Westbrook on

The Lakers’ struggles continued as they fell 127-102 to the Nuggets at Crypto.com Arena. Despite a competitive first half, the Lakers were outscored 70-39 in the second, including a 37-15 deficit in the third quarter.

This loss not only ended their perfect home record but also highlighted ongoing issues, particularly their lack of energy and focus after halftime.

Rui Hachimura, despite his own solid play, attributed the Lakers’ second-half collapse to a lack of intensity.

“We kind of relaxed for some reason,” Hachimura admitted.

Coach JJ Redick also criticized the team for their poor effort, especially on defense, as the Nuggets capitalized on 31 points off turnovers and 26 fast-break points.

With the Lakers now sitting at 10-6 on the season, they will need to regroup quickly to address their defensive shortcomings before their upcoming road trip to Phoenix.
